Robert B. O'Connor , age 72, of Stockton, IL, passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at FHN Memorial Hospital. He was born in Chicago, IL, to the late Robert H. and Marilyn E. (O'Brien) O'Connor.

Bob attended St. Juliana Catholic elementary school in Chicago, was a 1970 graduate of Loyola Academy in Wilmette, IL, and went on to receive his bachelor's degree from St. Mary's University of Minnesota. He attended Holy Cross Catholic Church in Stockton. He was a member of the Plum River Masonic Lodge, served as a Trustee for Pleasant Valley Township, and served on the Jo Daviess County Board. Bob retired after many years of working for the Department of Children and Family Services. He also taught ESL classes at Highland Community College in Freeport. He loved sailing on Lake Michigan and boating on the Mississippi River. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle and driving his car with his beloved dog, Onyx, on country roads in Jo Daviess County.

He is survived by his sister, Maureen E. O'Connor of Lena, IL; his aunt, Geraldine Boveri of Chicago; and his cousin, John (Marian) Boveri of Campton Hills, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents; his uncle, Mario Boveri; his cousins James and Richard Boveri, and his uncle Fred and aunt Catherine (O'Connor) Link.

A visitation and memorial service will be held on Friday, January 31, 2025, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Stockton. The visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. followed by the memorial service at 11:00 a.m.
