Robert "Bob" T. Kaminski , age 83 of Pearl City, IL passed away Monday, May 15, 2017 at Presence St. Joseph Center in Freeport. He was born in Chicago, IL on February 15, 1934 to the late Anthony and Ethel (Hitzelburger) Kaminski. While in school, Bob won the Chicago Competition Diving Championship. He worked as a swiss cheese maker at Kraft foods, a Union Organizer, a Union Steward, Folk Festival Organizer and an ordained minister. Bob enjoyed stockcar racing, motorcycle touring, traveling Europe, building sports cars, and Bluegrass music. He was a U.S. Army survey specialist and had a classified priority rating with original First Guided Missile Battalion. Bob authored and published a non-fiction book entitled, "To Free the Captives". Bob is survived by his significant other of 20 years, Darlene Busker of Pearl City, and his sister, Lorraine O'Brian of Palos Hills. He is preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Ethel, and his daughter, Fran. There will be a visitation on Sunday, May 21, 2017 at the Hermann Funeral Home in Stockton, IL from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Cremation rites have been accorded. Interment will take place at a later date. A memorial fund has been established.
