Robert Jude Michael Tudor
was born at St. Anthony's Hospital, Chicago, on November 14, 1931, he passed away peacefully on February 1, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents, John James and Irene Josephine (Schwartz) Tudor, his siblings, Rita Jean (George) Dilloo and John Edward (Denise) Tudor, and his grandchildren, Jason Bryce and Michelle Marie Tudor.
He was raised in Cicero, Illinois and was a loving husband to Lorraine Aileen (Lawson) since June 12, 1954. He was a loving and proud father of Robert Jude II (Linda) Tudor, John Edwin (Dennis Artman) Tudor, Catherine Aileen (Thomas) O'Keefe, Edward Arthur (Mary) Tudor, and James Charles (Rebecca) Tudor. He was a devoted grandfather to Jason Bryce (deceased) and Michelle Marie (deceased) Tudor, Jackson Francis and Carter William Rowland, Kaitlyn Aileen and Thomas James O'Keefe, Victoria Elizabeth, Christina Alaine, and Emily Jean Tudor.
Robert attended and graduated (1946) from St. Attracta's Parish Elementary school and attended and graduated (1950) from St. Ignatius College Prep High School, Chicago. He received his B.S. in Education from Northern Illinois State Teachers College, August, 1954 and his Master's in Education from Northern Illinois University, August, 1957. He served in the Army of the United States, 1955 – 1957.
An Honorary Life and Fourth Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus, Robert was grand knight of Cardinal Council, 1691, Cicero, 1979-1981. He was a charter member (2001) of St. Wendelin Council, 12841, Shannon, IL. He served as financial secretary of St. Wendelin Council, 2003-2007.
Robert and Lorraine were active in Kiwanis for several years; he was a past Lt. Governor of both Division 5 and 13. Lorraine served as a Lt. Governor of Division 13. Robert was a member of the American Legion and past member of the Lions Club of Forreston.
Robert joined the staff at Morton High School and Junior College (Cicero) in 1957. He retired from J. Sterling Morton High School in 1991. During his years at Morton, he served as an English teacher and as Director of Community and Media Services. The latter included public relations, community use of school and facilities, libraries and audio visual services, and the bilingual program.
He was a dear friend to many and will be greatly missed.
A memorial service will be held Friday, May 15, 2015 at 11:00 am at St. Wendelin's Catholic Church in Shannon, IL. Interment will take place at St. Wendelin's Cemetery following the service. A memorial fund has been established in his name.
