Ronald J. Boldt, age 70 of Apple River, IL, passed away at home on Monday, July 16, 2018. He was born on April 20, 1948 in Hazel Green, WI; the son of the late Orville and Esther (Pogeman) Boldt. He was a 1966 graduate of Stockton High School.

Ron was an avid farmer and loved his farm in Apple River. He also enjoyed working with his friends at the Bocker dealership. He was president of the Jo Daviess County Farm Bureau from 1986-1997. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, traveling, going out to dinner and being with his good friends. Ron was a kind hearted man who loved telling jokes and was a good provider for his family.

He is survived by his children, Eric Boldt of Indianapolis, IN and Valerie (Richard) Cannon of Freeport; their mother; Susan (Daniel) Finifrock of Freeport; grandchildren, Jayden Cannon and Mikayla Morales; brother, Jeff (Cathy) Boldt of Stockton; and sister, Connie (Barry) Townsend of Byron, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents.
