Rose Marie Moll , age 83, of Shannon, IL passed away at UW Hospital in Madison, WI, on Wednesday, April 6, 2022. She was born on June 10, 1938, the daughter of Dr. Victor Rockey and Marie (Appenzeller) Rockey. She graduated from Freeport High School in 1956.

She worked at Microswitch after graduation. She married LaMoine Moll in 1959 at the United Methodist Church in Shannon. She was a member of the United Methodist Church for over 60 years. Rose Marie resided in Shannon until her death.

She was a homemaker who loved her home and her family. She was also a wonderful mother, wife and a true friend. She was an avid birdwatcher and loved flowers and nature of all kinds. Rose Marie was an outstanding cook and enjoyed baking and cooking things for her family and others. She collected recipes of all kinds.

She and her family founded the Steven Moll Memorial Foundation in 2009. This foundation sends deserving students from Eastland to Highland Community College for their first year or more of college.

Rose Marie is survived by her husband; her son, David Moll of Shannon; and her sister-in-law, Linda (Skip) Rockey Krum of Mt. Carroll. She was preceded in death by her son, Steven and her brother, Robert.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Bethel United Methodist Church in Shannon. There will be a visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport, IL. A memorial fund has been established for the Steven Moll Memorial Foundation for Eastland Students attending Highland Community College.
