Ruth Ann Brashaw, age 90 of Stockton, IL, passed away Monday, August 11, 2014 at the Stockton Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center. She was born October 2, 1923 in Winslow, IL; the daughter of the late Simon and Anna (Mass) Pash. Her father and mother farmed on several different farms during her young life. Her father passed away in 1931 and her family moved to Nora, IL. After two years, the family moved to Warren where Ruth lived until she was married. She married Robert Lee Brashaw on February 24, 1946; he died June 17, 1988.
Before marriage, Ruth worked at Burgess Battery and at a TB Sanitarium. Together she and Robert farmed northwest of Stockton for many years. They belonged to several card clubs and other organizations. Ruth and Robert were members of Wesley United Methodist Church in Stockton, where she was a Sunday School teacher for many years.
She is survived by two brothers, Fred William (Wilmith) Pash and Joe Simon (Betty) Pash; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; three brothers, Edwin Lee Pash, Harry August Pash, and Leonard Pash; and three sisters, Eva Heckman, Violet Woodley, and Joyce Long.
The funeral service will be held Friday, August 15, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Wesley United Methodist Church in Stockton, IL. There will be a visitation before the service beginning at 9:00 AM. Interment will take place at Ladies Union Cemetery in Stockton. A memorial fund has been established.
