Ruth Ann Fagan , age 66, of Shannon, IL passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at Rock River Hospice Home after a short battle with cancer. She was born in Freeport, IL on August 5, 1958 to the late Leroy and Norma (Dohse) Buss. Ruth married Kevin Fagan on May 5, 1984 at St. Wendelin Catholic Church in Shannon.

Ruth was a 1976 graduate of Shannon High School. She enjoyed watching soap operas, sewing, baking, puzzles and word games. She loved to sit outside in her rocking chair and enjoy the nice weather. She also enjoyed the occasional trip to the casino and being out and about socializing. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and her grandpups and grandkitties.

Ruth is survived by her husband of 40 years, Kevin Fagan of Shannon; her daughters, Ashley (Scott) Hughes of Rock Island and Kristina (Mike Albano) Fagan of Sterling; her brother, Robert Buss of Mt. Carroll; her sisters, Vicki Schumacher of Cottage Grove, WI, Diane (Richard) VanRaden of Freeport, and Nancy (Roger) Sindt of Rochester, MN; and her 4 grandpups and 2 grandkitties. She was preceded in death by her parents and her father-in-law, Michael Fagan.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at Hermann Funeral Home in Shannon from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established for Rock River Valley Hospice.
