Shirley Lee (Greiner) North , 77, of Stockton, IL, formerly of Galena, IL, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2024 at Allure of Stockton following a long illness. A visitation will be held Thursday, August 22 at 10:00 AM with a service at 11:00 AM at the Hermann Funeral Home in Stockton, with a burial to follow at the Ladies Union Cemetery in Stockton.

Shirley was born on August 24, 1946 in Hazel Green, WI to Anna (Krohmer) and LeRoy Greiner of Galena, IL. Shirley attended Galena public schools growing up and was employed by Dura Automotive Systems for most of her working years. Shirley was married to Alvin North until their separation and had two daughters, Susan Schultz of Galena, IL and Vicky Elrod of Murfreesboro, TN. Shirley enjoyed going out to eat, playing BINGO and card games, and talking on the phone with her friends and family. She had an off-color sense of humor and enjoyed making people laugh (or drop their jaws) at her remarks.

Shirley is survived by her daughters Susan Schultz and Vicky Elrod; granddaughters Lindsey Houle and Courtney Schultz; grandsons Marcus North and Michael Schultz; great granddaughters Amber North and Braelynn Houle; nieces Lissa Blake, Becky Brandenburg, Jeneen Womack, Tammy Goodman, and Tracy Dahl; nephews Nathan Greiner, Alan Womack, and Kevin Greiner; and many great-nieces and nephews.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents LeRoy and Anna Greiner; brothers Ronald Greiner and James Greiner; sisters Carol Womack and Cheryl Bloom; nieces Heidi Greiner, Debbie Atkisson, and Julie Kittoe; and nephews Anthony Bloom, Gary Womack, and Brian "Bubba" Womack.

The family would like to thank the staff members of Allure of Stockton for providing excellent care to Shirley during the last 10 years of her life.
