Shirley A. Rollinger, age 82 of Dodgeville, WI, formerly of Woodbine, IL, passed away surrounded by her family on Thursday, April 17, 2014 at Upland Hills Nursing & Rehab in Dodgeville. She was born December 2, 1931 in Bluffton, IA; the daughter of the late Frank and Catherine (Coburn) Timp. She graduated high school in 1947 in Canton, MN. Shirley married Eldred Rollinger on January 11, 1950 in Plymouth Rock, IA; he died on November 26, 2001.
She had worked at Atwoods in Stockton, IL, at Eaton Corp. in Hanover, IL, and was a manager in Tupperware sales. She and her husband owned and worked Grandpa's Workshop in Woodbine, IL. Shirley was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Stockton, and was a former member of the Elizabeth Nursing Home Auxiliary. She loved the outdoors, especially gardening, fishing, and hunting. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, cooking, and woodworking. Most of all, Shirley loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Easter was her favorite holiday and she always enjoyed hiding eggs for Easter egg hunts.
She is survived by three daughters, Nancy (Mike) Grindey of Apple River, IL, Carol (Kenneth) Kammes of Dodgeville, and Betty (Tom) Calvert of Mineral Point, WI; two sons, William (Linda) Rollinger of Pecatonica, IL and David (Cheryl) Rollinger of Apple River; 19 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and brother, Louie (Pat) Timp of Galena, IL.
Shirley is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eldred; daughter-in-law, Jodeen Rollinger; seven brothers, and four sisters.
The funeral service will be held Monday, April 21, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Stockton. There will be a visitation before the service beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will take place at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Stockton. A memorial fund has been established.
