Shirley E. Schrader , age 77, of Shannon, IL passed away Saturday, May 10, 2025 at home. She was born on June 20, 1947 in Freeport, IL to the late Maynard and Imogene (Dungar) Gaul. Shirley married Michel O. Fox, on June 6, 1965 in Lanark, they divorced in 1975. She married Donald Schrader on September 17, 1976. Don passed away on July 5, 2024.

Shirley served on the Labor Day Committee for the Shannon Homecoming for several years. She enjoyed cross stitching, volunteering for the Ronald McDonald House and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her son, Michael (Tami) Fox of Freeport; her daughter, Michelle "Shelly" (Joe) Zubler of German Valley; her sister, Mary Phelps of Byron; her sister-in-law, Susan Gaul; her grandchildren, Michael (Cassie) Fox, Mitchell (Abby) Fox, Myranda (Dominic Mannino) Fox, Eyan (Christi) Zubler, Cheyenne Zubler, Dustyn Zubler and Bethynnie Zubler; and her 5 great grandchildren.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her infant brother, Jerry; her infant sister, Susan; her brother, Gary Gaul; and her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Hermann Funeral Home in Shannon. There will be a visitation on Friday, May 16, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. also at the Funeral Home. Interment will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport. A memorial fund has been established for the Ronald McDonald House of Madison and the Shannon Fire Department.
