Uva Mae Haug, age 74 of Elizabeth, IL, died Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at FHN Memorial Hospital in Freeport, IL. She was born September 4, 1938, the daughter of Ervin and Lucy (Shippy) Runkle. She was a graduate of Freeport High School. Uva married Simon Hartog November 25, 1959, he died November 16, 1974. She married Bob Haug on March 25, 2001.
Uva was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Elizabeth, IL. She had worked at the Lena Nursing Home, Casey's, Primera Foods, and worked part-time helping out in the kitchen at the Stockton High School. For the last 16 years she helped her sons mow Ladies Union Cemetery. Uva enjoyed fishing, camping, hiking, and campfires.
She is survived by her husband Bob Haug of Elizabeth, IL; two sons, Don (Robin) Hartog of Stockton, IL and Dave (Dawn Howarth) Hartog of Cedarville, IL; a brother, Jim Runkle; and two grandchildren, Kendra Hartog and Chrissy Hartog.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Simon, an infant sister, and three brothers.
A visitation will be held Friday, September 14, 2012 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at the Hermann Funeral Home in Stockton, IL. The funeral service will be Saturday, September 15, 2012 at 10:30 AM at the Faith Lutheran Church in Elizabeth, the Rev. Kenneth Arndt presiding. There will be a one hour visitation held at the church before the funeral service beginning at 9:30 AM. Internment will take place at Ladies Union Cemetery in Stockton. A memorial fund has been established.
