William (Bill) Kehl, age 68 of Stockton, IL, passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at FHN Memorial Hospital in Freeport, IL. He was born March 11, 1946; the son of the late Vernon and Ruth (Vanderheyden) Kehl. He married Janice Mapes on June 13, 1984 in Galena, IL.
Bill was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Stockton. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and taking his truck for rides around the countryside…very slowly. He was also an avid Green Bay Packer fan.
He is survived by his wife, Janice of Stockton; son, Bob (Jennifer) Kehl of Stockton; daughter, Val (Brad) Brudi of Stockton; step-daughters, Melisa Woker (Fiancé, Alan) of Missouri and Wendy (Chad) Reusch of Stockton; grandchildren: Allison, Ethan & Lauren Kehl; Hope (Eric) Jannusch, Hannah, Haley & Joseph Brudi; and Kelsey, Kaitlyn & Kyleigh Reusch; and sisters, Elaine Hayes of Stockton and Betty Gahm of Pearl City, IL.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents and brothers-in-law, Don Hayes and Theron Gahm.
The funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 22, 2014 at 7:00 PM at the Hermann Funeral Home in Stockton. There will be a visitation prior to the service beginning at 4:00 PM. Interment will take place at Ladies Union Cemetery in Stockton at a later date. A memorial fund has been established.
